Scarborough Guildwood GPO members initiated or supported the following events.

On August 20, 2007 a full quorum of Green Party members living in the Scarborough Guildwood riding, met to form the first GPO Constituency Association in the area, approving the new constitution unanimously. Barry Fraser was elected president and Linda Fraser CFO. Glenn Kitchen was nominated as our Candidate for the next Provincial Election and Alonzo Bartley was selected as campaign CFO. Party Leader Frank De Jong told the meeting that the Green Party is committed to electing their first MPP in this election.

The October 10, 2007 Provincial Election came hard on the heels of the founding of our CA. Signs needed to be created and printed, funds needed to be raised, postcards for distribution needed photographs to be taken, printed and hand delivered to thousands of homes. Glenn was kept busy with appearances on Goldhawk, in public debates, school appearances and visits to retirement homes along with door to door canvasing. In the end we increased our voted by well over 300% from 1.5% in 2003 to 5.2% in 2007.

When the election was over the Green Party had increased its share of the vote to 8% and was nibbling at the heels of the NDP across the Province. Here Glenn Kitchen stands beside Party Leader Frank De Jong as they listen to former GPC Leader Jim Harris address the crowd at the GPO Victory celebration in downtown Toronto.
